A panel discussion at this weekend's American Psychological Association meeting in Toronto will look at the issue of how stressful journeys to work spill over into aggression and abuse in the workplace.
As many of our UK visitors could doubtless tell the US researchers, the more hassled drivers feel by their morning commute, the worse they behave when they finally get to work. Another finding that is hardly a surprise is that it's not distance that drives commuters bonkers; it's congestion.
Now, given that the average US commute takes 25 minutes and the average UK commute 45 minutes, perhaps the US researchers should study workplaces over here if they want some really startling results.
